Greek premium wine producer Domaine Porto Carras, imported by Old World Vines, is launching a new U.S. export program in California in March.
Porto Carras has a respected portfolio producing wines with the esteemed French VDQS designation (Vins Délimités de Qualité Supérieure), indicating a wine of superior quality. Importer President Katy Bendel Daniels said, "We're honored to represent the domaine and we know the wines will have a place on wine lists, shelves and in home cellars. Quality, value and above all taste will tell."
The marketing program, supported in part by the European Union and the Greek government, will include market visits in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento and Napa. A new website http://www.portocarraswines.gr/en has been created as a resource for trade, media and consumers. Export Director Stefanos Kavialotis will be joined by Porto Carras owner Yliana Stengou in several cities; the schedule includes consumer, trade and media events in each market. The Empire Events agency from Grass Valley, California has been retained to execute the programs.
