Once again, the RASSF has, blocked a batch of peppers from Turkey at the point of entry in Bulgaria.
According to the RASSF, the Turkish peppers were analysed on Thursday, February 20. Test results showed that these vegetables contained 0.988 milligrams per kilogram of Formetanate, a known insecticide and acaricide.
That amount of Formetanate is 19.76 times higher than the current maximum residue limit allowed. Hence, as is usual in such cases, the product was completely destroyed in order to avoid it from being consumed.
