American seafood company International Seafood Ventures (ISV) has hired celebrity chef Frank Terzoli as the firm's executive chef and director of sustainability, according to a statement from the company.
Terzoli, better known to fans as Frankie "The Bull" Terzoli, has appeared on television programs on the Food Network, Bravo and Fox, including Top Chef, where he debuted. He recently won the competition on the program Cutthroat Kitchen. He also worked as a fishing boat captain, most recently for a company based in American Samoa.
ISV hired Terzoli in part because of his certifications in sustainability programs such as HACCP core manufacturing and production. He also has a philosophy of replacing the traditional business law of supply and demand with the edict, "manage and sustain," according to the company.
"Frankie will be a valuable asset to ISV as we expand our company and introduce our new lines of value-added and family branded lines of seafood products through 2014," said Stuart Kozloff, ISV's owner and president. "It is rare to find this combination and level of expertise, not to mention celebrity status."
