Stimulated by the stable growth of export amount of new-registered enterprises and the expand of quantity of overseas-registered enterprises, the batches of exported aquatic product, its weight, and its value all realize simultaneous positive growth in the first half of 2016, especially the export quantity, which increases as high as 61%. The export of frozen mackerel, frozen skipjack and fishes producing histamine increased sharply 124.4%. Cephalopoda class products also obtained good performance whose export value grew 20.2%.
European Union, Korea and Japan were the main export destinations of Taizhou seafood before. But the situation gradually changes. While EU still grasps the top position of export value, as high as 40%, the market share of Korea and Japan drops significantly, which only accounts for 6% and 7% respectively of the total export value of Taizhou seafood. Southeast Asia already replaces them in terms of export value, which is up to 14%.
The most outstanding marketing highlight lies in Middle East and Russia into which a large amount of fishes producing histamine are exported, especially into Egypt and Iran whose import value of Taizhou seafood skyrockets 758.3%, accounting 20% of the total export value of Taizhou seafood. Last year, three enterprises in Taizhou who exported aquatic product gained the registration in Russia. They have already exported 49 batches, 1, 254 tonnes and 1, 339, 000 US dollars of aquatic products to Russia in the first half of 2016. And this is the first time that Taizhou seafood products has been exported to Russia in 5 years.
To ensure the safety of the exported seafood and help the enterprises to grow healthily, Taizhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau makes further efforts to help the enterprises exporting aquatic products increase the speed, decrease the burden and improve the efficiency regarding customs clearance. It continuously deepens the system of inspection and supervision of exported foods. The submitted aquatic products for clearance basically can realize instant release, which largely increases the clearance speed. It also put more efforts to help the enterprise improve self-inspection and self-supervision ability via one-to-one individual guidance at the enterprise’s laboratory. Besides, it focuses on the prominent problems regarding the supervision to improve the product quality and its competitiveness.
