Vietnam pepper exports top $600 mil, on course for $1 bil this year

This performance brings the year’s export target of $1 billion within arm’s reach, he added.
Last year exports were worth $900 million, with over 132,000 tons shipped.
Pepper prices have remained high for the last several years. Farmers now earn VND150,000 for a kilogram while their costs are less than a fourth of the amount.
Vietnam is by far the world’s largest pepper supplier, accounting for 50 percent of the global volume.
