Ukraine may increase its watermelon and apple juice concentrate export volumes to the European Union, according to the head of Fruit-Inform, Tetiana Getman.
T. Getman said that Ukraine as a whole exports 120 tonnes of apple concentrate, of which 70,000 tonnes go to EU countries.
"Ukrainian concentrate is unique, as the country produces it with sour apples," she said.
According to experts, Ukraine's prospects for an increase in the export volumes of apple concentrate within the EU are really positive.
Regarding watermelons, Ms Getman said that "Ukraine has a positive balance of trade with the EU, as it imports 300 tonnes and exports about 20,000 tonne, 15,000 of which within the EU."
She added that growers from the Kherson region are currently studying the preferences of European consumers to increase the production of its seedless watermelon varieties.
