The Moroccan themed Welcome Reception will be hosted by Silver Sponsor Harris Farm Markets, one of the biggest independent retailers of fresh produce in Australia.
David Harris, founder of Harris Farm Markets, said that there was always something special about mangoes. “The anticipation and excitement for the 10th Australian Mango Conference is similar to the feeling that we all get as the beginning of the mango season approaches. The Welcome Reception will be the start of the celebrations and we are honoured to be part of the occasion, proud to show our support of the Australian mango industry and look forward to continuing our strong partnership,” Mr Harris said.
Hosts of the 10th Australian Mango Conference, the Australian Mango Industry Association, their partner Horticulture Innovation Australia and Platinum Sponsor Woolworths, will focus on growing the profitability of mango growers and industry partners throughout the Conference.
AMIA Chairman Gavin Scurr said that the conference will bring representative together from across the industry, and across the country, to collaborate to shape the future of the Australian mango industry.
“The Australian mango industry has a lot to celebrate. The 2014/15 mango season has been the biggest crop we’ve ever seen and the feeling of collaboration and optimism within the industry has been growing steadily. The gains made this season will be showcased, and delegates be guided towards creating open, trusting and collaborative relationships that can benefit themselves and those they work with,” Mr Scurr said.
Main topics to be discussed includes mango quality, advances in production efficiency, market access, export opportunities and increasing demand for mangoes.
