US-based establishment Fresca Italia is recalling close to 36 pounds of pork products as they were shipped without the benefit of full inspection, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The recall has been initiated after it was found that the recalled products were not produced at the US point of entry for inspection, during routine FSIS surveillance activities of imported products conducted by the Recall Management and Technical Analysis Staff.
The products subject to the recall include 3oz sealed trays of Maestri Authentic Italian Salumi Prosciutto italiano, 3oz sealed trays of Prosciutto di San Daniele and 3-oz. sealed trays of Maestri Authentic Italian Salumi speck.
These products manufactured in Italy bear the establishment number CEIT 649L inside the Italian mark of inspection.
The recall has been classified as Class I health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
No illnesses have been reported associated with the consumption of the recalled products.
