The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) reports that Sunneen Health Foods has recalled its “WHOLE FOODS MARKET PB&J PARFAITS” from select stores in the states of New Jersey and New York. These parfaits may contain tree nut (almond and coconut) and soy allergens that were not declared on the product labeling.
Tree nut and soy ingredients may be life-threatening to those who are allergic to them, potentially causing dangerous anaphylaxis shock. The parfaits affected by the recall were distributed to and sold at Whole Foods Market stores in Englishtown, New Jersey (113 Route 9 S.), Edgewater, New Jersey (905 River Road), New York, New York (4 Union Square South and 1095 6th Avenue), and Brooklyn, New York (238 Bedford Avenue).
The 8-ounce containers of the parfaits were stamped with the UPC code 636910500448 and the “Best By” dates prior to 7/13/2017. These packages should be thrown away for returned to the store, with a valid receipt, for a complete refund.
