In Norway, fruit and vegetable prices are currently at the highest in 20 years; a situation which has been blamed mostly on the weakness of the crown. Since the start of 2015, fruit and vegetable prices in the country have increased by approximately 15 percent, according to NRK.
"This is primarily attributable to currency fluctuations, especially against the Euro and dollar. Especially after oil prices dropped, prices for import goods, such as fruit and vegetables, were significantly affected," states the general manager of the Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Office, Oddmund Østebø.
One of the most noteworthy examples is that of oranges, which now cost 18 percent more than two years ago.
