UK-based fish brand Saucy Fish Co. continues to grow into international markets, having just expanded into new locations in the United Arab Emirates.

The company already has products available for sale in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Belgium. Moreover, as of last month, 181 Whole Food Market storefronts across five regions in the United States now sell Saucy Fish branded offerings.

Announced on 24 December, Spinney’s – a retailer affiliated with Waitrose that prides itself on providing “the fresher experience” – has become Saucy Fish’s latest premium partner, stocking the company’s products in 12 of its stores around Dubai.

The range offered by Spinney’s consists of five of Saucy Fish’s most popular UK products including ‘salmon with watercress and crème fraiche dressing’ as well as ‘salmon with red pesto sauce’ and ‘salmon with sweet chilli sauce’ foil bake bags. Also available are Saucy’s ‘salmon with lime and coriander dressing’ and ‘roasted lemon and herb salmon with Sicilian lemon and dill mayo’, both from the brand’s precooked, Ready to Eat range.

The company expects its new dealings with Spinney’s to boost sales considerably in 2016.

“This is a big deal for The Saucy Fish Co. We’re very excited to introduce Saucy products to a new market in Dubai; having identified a premium partner in Spinney’s, we’re confident the range will prove popular, especially amongst expats from the UK. International purchases currently account for around 8 percent of Saucy Fish sales but we expect this to nearly double to 15 percent by the end of 2016,” said Paul Macis, International and Business Development Manager at The Saucy Fish Co. UK.

The Saucy Fish Co. has done quite a bit to distinguish itself since debuting in UK supermarkets in 2010. Earlier in 2015, the company once again secured its CoolBrand status for the third year running, joining the likes of Netflix and Aston Martin. Additionally, the brand launched its e-commerce website portal, Saucy Shop, just last month. With Saucy Shop, consumers can browse and purchase the range of 19 fish and sauce products directly from Saucy Fish itself.

Sainsbury’s, The Co-operative, Waitrose, Budgen’s and Booths & Ocado are all retailers currently stocking Saucy Fish items.
