The Association of Producers of Peaches for the Industry expressed its concerns regarding the current problems faced by most producers to the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture of Tunuyan, which is presided by the Vice President of the FEM, Alberto Carleti, in a meeting this week.
Faced with the new harvest, farmers find themselves in a situation of total uncertainty as the payment basis for the fruit that will be harvested in a few days still hasn't been defined so producers will start marketing their products without knowing these conditions, which will result in an adverse situation for them.
Alberto Carleti stated that this problem was shared by all producers as they were "the weakest link that had suffered the consequences of these imbalances, such as inflation, loss of profitability, access to financing, increased costs, tax burden, labor risks, and currency delays the most."
In that sense, the vice president of the FEM asked that the benefits given to the industry, as a result of the new measures taken by the Government, be transferred to producers.
"The productive sector has been through many tough years and we must make a great effort to improve its situation. This requires the commitment and joint efforts of the various links in the chain. Otherwise, we'll keep having the same old problems and contradictions between producers and the industry," emphasized the body led by Alberto Carleti.
