Russia Temporarily Prohibits Import of Seafood from a few Chinese Companies

Core Tip: According to Russian news agency reports, Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia would temporarily prohibit import of frozen tilapia fillet produced by Gaoyao Zhenye Fishery Lengdong Limited Company in Guangdong, China.
According to Russian news agency reports, Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia would temporarily prohibit import of frozen tilapia fillet produced by Gaoyao Zhenye Fishery Lengdong Limited Company in Guangdong, China.

The reason was that prohibited and hazardous substances were found during monitoring period in Russian laboratory, which was stated in an announcement issued by Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance. Also mentioned in the announcement, the temporary ban has been imposed since 29th September, 2016.

Besides, the federal organ has strengthened its surveillance against Hai Li Aquatic Co., Ltd In Zhaoan, Fujian province and Shanghai Zhoulian Food Co., Ltd since 14th September. It’s known the action was also connected to forbidden and hazardous substances found in primary test of imported products. Both of the companies exported shrimp products into Russia.
