This year, the value of the Dalian cherry output was more than 7 billion yuan. During the peak period, sales rose up to 20-30% and the wholesale price was 120 yuan per kilogram. Last year the increase was just about 9%.
Fast logistics and the constant development of e-commerce services increased sales several times over. According to incomplete statistics, the city's on-line sales of cherries have already passed the 8,000 tons mark. It is more than 80% higher compared to last year. Total orders were over 3 million. The total area of cherry cultivation in Dalian is about 17,400 ha and it's producing 1,420,000 tons of cherries. Furthermore, Dalian cherries were transported by sea to Hong Kong markets for the first time.
