Core Tip: The new kiwifruit production season officially began in early September and will last until November.
"The new kiwifruit production season officially began in early September and will last until November. The harvest periods for different kiwifruit varieties will of course vary slightly. Furthermore, if the kiwifruit is properly cooled and stored, the retail season can be extended until April in the subsequent year." This is according to Yuan Shuai, CEO of Yangling Zhenyu Agricultural Management Co., Ltd.

"As for production volume, the cold weather in early spring reduced the production volume of many production areas in China, including Shaanxi and Sichuan. Our own observations and surveys show that the nationwide production volume of kiwifruit decreased by around 30%-40% in comparison with last year. As for the price, however, the overall fall in supply did not increase the price of kiwifruit, which remains at the same level as it was last year."

"We own around 33 hectares of open-field kiwifruit plantations in Xi'an City and nearby counties. Our main kiwifruit varieties are Emerald Green Fragrance (Cuixiang) and Gentle Fragrance (Xuxiang). We sell the kiwifruit under our own brand 'Zhenyu' through traditional marketing channels, e-commerce platforms, our own online sales-teams, and newly developed markets in northeast and north China, both in wholesale markets and through supermarkets. We are steadily developing our current market share, and in addition, this year, we will consider opening markets in central and south China."
