Large number of kiwifruits on the market nationwide

Core Tip: At present, there is a large-scale market for kiwifruit in China.
At present, there is a large-scale market for kiwifruit in China. In some main producing areas, early-maturing varieties such as Hongyang have already been listed. The middle-ripening varieties such as Xuxiang and Cuixiang are also close to the picking stage, and late-maturing varieties such as golden fruit, Jinyan and Hayward will soon enter the picking period.

Twists and turns - the early kiwifruit market fell by 20%
Although there are more and more kiwifruits on the market at the moment, compared with the same period last year, prices have dropped significantly. For example, the price of red heart kiwifruit in the Sichuan morning market is generally about 20% lower than in same period of last year. The price of Shaanxi Xuxiang kiwifruit is about 30% lower than last year, and the acquisition progress is not fast.

Most of the Hongyang kiwifruits listed earlier this year have experienced a "cold and ruthless" market. Many fields in the first month or two are scheduled to be 6~7 yuan/jin in Hongyang, and are now all the way down to 3~4 yuan/jin . There were also some orchards that were flooded by torrential rains in early July, and the price even fell below 2 yuan/jin.

High quality fruit on the market - price recovers
With the harvesting of water-flooded fruit, high-quality fruit began to enter the market, and finally the kiwifruit market began to pick up. In China's main kiwifruit production area, Meixian County, not only has the price risen, but merchants have been grabbing fruit and emptying the entire orchard.

A rational response to the high prices of recent years?
There are three reasons for the overall decline in kiwifruit prices this year: First, although the traditional production areas were affected by disasters the amount of fruit in the emerging areas increased, and the total amount of kiwifruits remained basically the same. Secondly, due to the constraints of disasters and limited management technology, the market lacks high-quality fruit, and the price of low-quality fruit is naturally low. Most importantly, the market for kiwifruit consumption was irrational in the past two years, and prices have been too high. Today's prices are a rational response.
