The Information Office of the Russian Coastal Border Region Government issued a message pointing out that China Oil & Foodstuffs Corporation successfully carried out the task of grain transportation to China in the region.
The Coastal Border Region Government stressed that "COFCO has repeatedly expressed its intention to develop trade cooperation with the Coastal Border Region. The two sides held many talks and discussed specific matters for future cooperation. The first ship carrying maize from the coastal border area has left for Hebei Province. As pointed out by the Chinese partners, the grain-transport is a concrete move taken by COFCO in response to the "one belt and one road" initiative and the implementation of the development cooperation agreement reached between the heads of state of Russia and China.
COFCO is a state-level holding company that produces cereals, oils and foodstuffs in China. COFCO is China's largest food producer and distributor.
