"Many fresh ginger production areas in China suffered from extreme weather conditions last year. Some of the ginger roots began to rot as a result of excessive rainfall. This reduced the overall production volume, and in particular the proportion of ginger suitable for commercial markets declined. This is the main reason why the current price of fresh ginger increased by around 30% in comparison with the same period last year."
"We own 333 hectares of ginger plantation in Anqiu, Shandong. Around 133 hectares is under our own management, and the remaining 200 hectares is managed in cooperation with local farmers. In those farms the local farmers plant ginger under guidance from technical personnel specialized in ginger plantation. The harvest is inspected and measured by company standards. Our ginger products barely suffered from extreme weather conditions last year because we apply strict inspection standards at every stage of the production process."
"We currently export around 85% of our fresh ginger through Qingdao to Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East under our own brand and under guest brands. The remaining 15% is sold through traditional retail channels in supermarkets and grocery stores throughout the country."
"The fresh ginger harvest season in Anqiu begins every year in October, provided that weather conditions are regular. The fresh ginger that we currently sell was harvested in the last production season. In the future, while we continue to maintain our current market share, we also hope to expand our export market and sell fresh ginger in new regions."
