Core Tip: High Liner Foods has partnered with Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), following which the seafood processor will source wild-caught seafood from only MSC-certified fisheries by next year.

The MSC ecolabeled products are expected to hit store shelves by this month and the company plans to add a few more products in the next few months, reported Fis India.

High Liner Foods president and chief executive officer Henry Demone said that the partnership with MSC is an important step that helps the company to meet its sustainability commitment.

"The future of sustainable seafood will be shaped by the actions and commitments we make today and partnering with the MSC will help us meet our goals," Demone said.

High Liner Foods is also planning to initiate a campaign by this fall to raise awareness on sustainability.
