Core Tip: Takasago Flavors recently completed upgrades to its mint laboratories and applications facilities in both South America and North America, enhancing the company’s oral care capabilities.
Brian Buck, senior vice president and general manager, Takasago International Corp. (USA) Flavor Division, announced Takasago Flavors recently completed upgrades to its mint laboratories and applications facilities in both South America and North America, enhancing the company’s oral care capabilities.

The Brazil facility in Vinhedo features new laboratory and applications areas that complement the site's mint flavor compounding facility. Specialists, trained in mint flavors and applications, are developing new mint flavors using Takasago's technologies such as Intensates® flavors to provide cooling and warming sensations, Transatak™ malodor suppression flavors for fresher breath, Mintact® synthetic mint flavors for stability and reliability and Sensingle™ flavors for enhanced oral salivation.

Mint activities in North America involve steps to increase the company's liquid production capacity. A mint liquid production suite was installed in a redeveloped area of the existing plant in Teterboro, N.J. The mint blending area features a range of large scale mint blending tanks and equipment to increase Takasago's mint blending to a more significant capacity.

"Takasago is making a number of major investments globally into our mint resources and capabilities as our strategy to dominate this market sector materializes," said Mike Munroe, Takasago's vice president, Global Mint & Sensates®.
