Trinchero Family Estates, a California-based family-owned winery, has rolled out The Recipe, the first vintage under the Dr Angove wine brand.
The Recipe is a 2012 red wine from South Australia. It is made up of 50% Shiraz, 30% Grenache, and 20% Petit Verdot.
The Shiraz grapes are sourced from Barossa and the Southern Flinders, while the Grenache from old vines in the Riverland. The Petit Verdot grapes are collected from banks of the Murray River.
Shiraz gives the wine its spicy character and Grenache offers juicy fruity character to the wine.
The Recipe is the modern form of Dr. Angove's original red wines, claims the company.
Dr Angove wine brand is produced in Australia by McLaren Vale-based Angove Family Winemakers and is marketed in the US by Trinchero Family Estates.
The Recipe wine is available for purchase at suggested retail price of $12.99.
