Trinchero Family Estates (TFE) has selected PowerStor, PowerStage and PASWare solutions developed by Power Automation Systems (PAS) to automate its storage process at the upcoming bottling and warehousing facility in Lodi, California.
Compared to the manual and crane-based automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) systems, the automated warehousing solution will allow TFE to move and store over 72,000 pallets of wine, as well as reduce labor costs, minimize product damage, and reduce energy usage within the warehouse.
PAS, a subsidiary of California Natural Products, had developed the cart and vertical life storage system (CTVL), known as PowerStor, to offer high throughput and density for food and beverage warehouses.
The first phase of the installation of PAS solutions is expected to begin in January 2014 with initial storage of 54,000 pallets. The facility is expected to be operational by June 2015.
PAS executive vice president Cory Hypes said the Trinchero Family Estates facility will be one of the most highly automated warehouses in the world.
