alMar on Wednesday announced it acquired an additional 0.7 percent of the shares in Villa Organic for NOK 2.5 million (USD 434,964/ EUR 326,400).The move brings SalMar’s total share in Villa to 50.42 percent, making Villa a subsidiary of the company. The business will report of a separate segment with effect from the second quarter of this year.
Villa organic expects to harvest 13,000 metric tons of salmon this year.
Completion of the transaction is subject to the approval of the Norwegian competition authorities.
