Tyson Foods' Fort Smith, Ark. poultry plant on Midland Boulevard produced 1.2 million lbs. on June 3, setting a new plant record for daily production, according to the Times Record.

This record production day also helped the facility reach a new weekly production record for the week ending June 8, said Tyson spokesman Gary Mickelson, who credited production process improvements at the plant during the last few years plus hard-working plant employees for achieving these new records.

“In celebration of this milestone, team members at our Fort Smith plant were recently served a steak dinner,” he added.

Tyson’s Fort Smith plant employs more than 100 people and supplies chicken that is designated mostly for export markets.
