BlueWater Seafoods, a Canada-based frozen prepared seafood manufacturer, has received gluten-free certification from the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) for its Grill Fish line of products.
This third-party approval from the GFCO assures that BlueWater's nine varieties of Grill Fish products are free of gluten and gluten-containing grains, such as wheat, barley, rye, and triticale.
GFCO, which is operated by the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America, is a leading gluten-free certification program in the world.
BlueWater Seafoods offers nine varieties of gluten free Grill Fish which are sourced responsibly under its Trusted Catch seafood sustainability program. The fillets include Grill Haddock, Grill Tilapia, Grill Salmon, and Grill Fillets made from wild-caught Alaska Pollock.
BlueWater Seafoods marketing manager Frederica Turner said: "We know how hard it can be for people with celiac or gluten intolerance to find convenient, inexpensive options and to trust what they buy is gluten free. We hope the GFCO certification helps reassure them that our Grill Fish meets their dietary needs."
The company is set to participate at the Toronto Gluten Free Expo event scheduled to be held on 14 and 15 September 2013.
