Crown Holdings, Inc., a leading supplier of metal packaging products worldwide, has announced the official opening and commercialization of its facilities in Da Nang, Vietnam and Sihanoukville, Cambodia.
“The Da Nang plant is Crown’s fourth beverage can plant in Vietnam and will supply regional customers,” said Jozef Salaerts, President of CROWN Asia Pacific. “Our Sihanoukville plant was also built to cater to increased local demand and is our second beverage can plant in Cambodia.”
The Da Nang facility started commercial production in early May, with one can line in operation and an initial production capacity of 730 million two-piece 330ml cans. The Sihanoukville plant operates one can line and started commercial production in July, with an initial production capacity of 1.1 billion two-piece 330ml cans.
“The sustainability and brand-building attributes of metal packaging continue to be recognized by brand owners and consumers in Southeast Asia, translating to greater demand for beverage cans,” Mr. Salaerts explained. “Crown is committed to helping its customers drive sales and grow market share, and strategic investments in new facilities are just one of the ways we do that.”
The Da Nang plant had its official opening ceremony on October 30, while Sihanoukville officially opened on November 1. The two plants will bring the total number of Crown two-piece beverage can plants in the Asia Pacific region to 16.
