Australian honey manufacturer Capilano Honey has launched a new range of flavour-infused honey, called Honeyfusions.

Available in four flavour varieties, ‘Honey and Maple Syrup’, ‘Honey and Vanilla’, ‘Honey and Lemon’ and ‘Honey and Ginger’, Capilano said the range “can be used in everything from breakfast to baked goods”.

The Honeyfusions range is packed in a “no mess” upside down squeeze tube and is available at Coles and Woolworths supermarkets for RRP $3.99 per tube.

New range part of 60th anniversary celebrations

Capilano Honey said the new Honeyfusions range was part of celebrations of its 60th anniversary. Founded by brothers Tim and Bert Smith in 1953, the Capilano brand began in a packing facility in Brisbane, Queensland, selling to grocery stores in the local area.

In 1956 the business was known as Capilano Apiaries Pty Limited. Interstate expansion and development of export followed as the company prospered, leading to the establishment of a packing plant and distribution centre at St. Marys, near Sydney, in 1968 followed by another in Maryborough, Victoria in 1974.

In 1970 the company became an unlisted public company and in 1974 changed its name to the Honey Corporation of Australia Limited. In 1995 it adopted the name Capilano Honey Limited in recognition of the wide appreciation of the Capilano trademark and brand throughout Australia and overseas.

In February 2004, Capilano Honey Limited (CHL) listed on the Bendigo Stock Exchange (BSX) to facilitate share trading, then making the final transition to a public listed company on the ASX in 2012.

Capilano Honey is now one of the largest honey packers in the world with a capacity to process and pack more than 45,000 tonnes of honey per year, and exports to 30 countries. The Company is supplied by some 500 beekeepers from across Australia.

Capilano Honey’s Australian products include Capilano Australian Honey, Pot Set Honey, Active Manuka Honey, Honey Shots and Snap n’ Squeeze Honey.
