Core Tip: The turnover made in Germany with fresh fruit increased in 2013 due to the high consumers prices.
The turnover madapplee in Germany with fresh fruit increased in 2013 due to the high consumers prices. The development of the demand for fresh fruit, however, did not show the same positive trend, reports the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) on its website.

The purchasing amount decreased by around 1%. The higher prices were certainly of influence in this. Even the fruit most bought by German households - the apple - was hit by a decrease in sales in 2013. Consumers bought 6.4% less apples than in 2012.
