Rallis India Ltd and Star Bazaar launched farm-fresh Rallis-Star Bazaar Grapes, which are now available at Star Bazaar outlets in Mumbai and Pune. These packaged grapes come through Rallis India’s Samrudh Krishi initiative.

Rallis-Star Bazaar grapes meet the international standards in terms of safety and quality, and are certified by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). They are priced at Rs 115 for a 1kg pack and Rs 65 for a 500g pack.

Speaking to FnB News about the launch of Rallis-Star Bazaar Grapes, V Shankar, managing director and chief executive officer, Rallis India Ltd said, “We are delighted to bring farm-fresh grapes to consumers through Star Bazaar outlets in Mumbai and Pune.”

“Consumers today have become very health-conscious and prefer quality products which are safe and healthy for consumption. The grapes sourced from farmers are a part of our Rallis Samrudh Krishi initiative,” he added.

“These farm-fresh grapes are certified by APEDA (making them an export-quality product), and are available at reasonable prices in the domestic market. We plan to launch the product in other markets across India during our second phase,” Shankar stated.

He added, “Samrudh Krishi is a novel initiative by Rallis India to bring latest agronomy practices to Indian farmers.”

“The company, which has successfully developed a long-term association with the farmers, has constantly endeavoured to provide them a host of agri-services and valuable inputs and advice on how to optimise the utilisation of resources, soil care, plant nutrient and crop protection information to achieve healthy and quality produce,” Shankar said.

“This helps farmers grow the best-quality products that meet international standards in terms of nutrition values, safety, quality, etc. Taking this a step further, the company is now taking the farmers’ farm-fresh grapes to the customers by making the packaged grapes available to the consumers through Star Bazaar outlets,” he added.

This initiative would benefit both the farmers and consumers. The latter can produce quality products and get assured returns of their produce at the right price (thus eliminating the middlemen), and the latter would receive export-quality products at affordable prices.

It would thereby exhibit Rallis’ deep understanding of Indian agriculture with a strong product portfolio of comprehensive crop care solutions.

Commenting about the collaboration between Rallis and Star Bazaar, Jamshed Daboo, chief executive officer, Trent Hyper Market, said, “At Star Bazaar, it is our constant endeavour to provide our customers with an unmatched array of high-quality products at affordable prices.”

“We are pleased to associate with Rallis India’s Samrud Krishi initiative and launch Rallis-Star Bazaar farm-fresh grapes. This collaboration would help us reach customers who are looking for fresh, high-quality produce. We would continue to provide our customers with unique products at great prices, thus offering a well-defined value proposition,” he added.
