of Morpol by Marine Harvest in September 2013, the salmon farming giant has been notified by the European Commission that it is under investigation for committing an infringement of the suspension obligation and of notification requirement under the European Merger Regulation by acquiring an initial shareholding in Morpol before the related acquisition was notified to and approved.The investigation proceedings do not affect the approval granted by the commission for the acquisition of Morpol, but may lead to a monetary fine.
Marine Harvest said it does not expect such a fine to be material.
