Cermaq has announced it was awarded five of the 15 new green licenses in Norway.
There were a total of 72 bid in the category, group B, and the 15 highest bids were between NOK 55 million (USD 6.2 million, EUR 6.7 million) and NOK 66 million (USD 11 million, EUR 8 million). Cermaq’s bid prices were NOK 63 million (USD 10.5 million, EUR 7.6 million) for three licenses and NOK 55 million for two licenses.
“We are very pleased with the outcome of this first round of allocation of green licenses, and are convinced that we will develop these licenses in a positive way for Cermaq and its shareholders,” said CEO Jon Hindar.
The company said it will provide information as to where the new licenses will be located, total investment and timing of the remaining allocations of licenses in groups A and C have been announced and Cermaq has concluded its final investment plan.
