Sirane expands to U.S. market

U.K. company Sirane is heading to the United States with its line of food packaging. The newly formed Sirane North America is set to start manufacturing stateside soon.

“Interest in Sirane from across the Atlantic has been huge, and in just a few months the U.S. team has generated a buzz across the region," said Simon Balderson, Sirane's managing director. “The level of interest already, and the sales potential we have in North America, means that we intend to open additional manufacturing in the United States before the end of 2014. In the meantime, we already have warehousing secured in California and the Mid-West.”

The company's food packaging solutions serve a wide range of sectors, including: seafood, meat, poultry, fresh produce, retail, ready meals and convenience food.

“Sirane’s innovative food packaging solutions have caused a real stir in the U.S. market," said Adam Green, Sirane’s business development manager for North America.

Sirane specializes in packaging design, development, manufacture and solutions, with a product line that includes absorbency and ovenable/microwaveable products, compostable packaging, films, boards and absorbent pads.

The company, based in Telford, Shropshire, U.K., has four divisions: food packaging; medical and healthcare; horticultural and industrial. Sirane has an additional manufacturing facility in Antalya, Turkey, as well as offices and warehousing in Cape Town, South Africa, and offices in Singapore and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
