VASEP to Stengthen Fisheries Union to Achieve Export Targets

Core Tip: In 2014, the community of Viet Nam seafood processors and exporters has faced to a lot of opportunities and challenges.
A general meVASEPeting of the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) took place in Ho Chi Minh city on June 12, 2014 with the participation of 143 seafood enterprises and representatives from related agencies.

The meeting was to report its operation results in 2013-14 and approve the content of modified charters, reports VASEP.

In 2014, the community of Viet Nam seafood processors and exporters has faced to a lot of opportunities and challenges.

To achieve the export target of $7 billion by 2014 and $10 billion by 2020, VASEP and its member companies are required to make more efforts, to innovate and strengthen the union to overcome challenges, Tran Thien Hai, the chairman of VASEP expressed at the conference.

VASEP will tightly coordinate with MARD, MOIT, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in policy advocacy, overcoming trade barriers, promoting Vietnam seafood to foreign countries, attending international seafood shows in Japan, the US, South Korea, building brand name for Viet Nam pangasius exported to EU.
