Dunbia joins Bord Bía sustainability group

Core Tip: Dunbia has achieved Origin Green membership, becoming the latest company to join Bord Bía’s initiative, which aims for sustainability in the food chain throughout Ireland.
It will joinDunbia over 40 other member companies. Origin Green said it was “the only sustainability programme in the world that operates on a national scale, uniting government, the private sector and food producers through Bord Bía, the Irish Food Board”.

Denver Willis, Dunbia’s group environmental and efficiency manager, said: “We are delighted to achieve Origin Green membership and are proud to be associated with the scheme. We are aware of the need to create sustainable business models from farm to fork and the credentials of Origin Green will certainly help us achieve this in collaboration with partners throughout the supply chain. Origin Green will embed into our wider sustainability and environmental strategy and will strengthen the aims and objectives we hope to accomplish.”

A Dunbia spokesperson said the company “has a strong environmental agenda which has already achieved fantastic results in energy, carbon and water usage reduction. This latest recognition confirms the company’s commitment to ensuring its drives forward with sustainability at the core of all its business activities in Ireland.”
