The European Uniofishn has adopted a TAC (Total Allowable Catch) for anchovy of 20,100 tonnes for the Bay of Biscay for the period from July 1, 2014 till June 30, 2015.

This amount represents an increase of the total quota by 3,000 tons (18 per cent) from the previous quota.

The increased fishing opportunities is due in large part to the degree of responsibility shown by the Spanish fishing sector and the efficient control of the consumption of the quota made by the General Secretariat of Fisheries.
