China remains the biggest importer of Vietnamese fruits, vegetable in the first half of 2014, accounting for some 31.77 percent of the export value, according to statistics from Vietnam Customs.
The Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC) under Ministry of Industry and Trade on Wednesday quoted Vietnam Customs as saying that during the January-June period, Vietnam exported nearly 684.5 million U.S. dollars worth of fruits and vegetable to the world market, up 43.82 percent year-on-year.
In particular, fruits and vegetable sold to China reached over 217.4 million U.S. dollars in value during the period, seeing an increase of 41.22 percent year-on-year.
Japan ranks the second among markets of Vietnamese fruits and vegetable during the six-month period with nearly 35.14 million U. S. dollars worth of products shipped to the market, up 10.91 percent year-on-year.
Exports to Japan accounted for some 5.13 percent of Vietnam's fruits and vegetable export revenue during the period, according to statistics from Vietnam Customs.
