Core Tip: UK - Seafish, the UK's industry authority on seafood, has published its 2015-2018 Corporate Plan, promising to deliver a programme of work that reflects real world challenges and opportunities over the next three years.
In the plan, Seafish outlines its aim to continue the focus on getting more people eating more fish more often, and developing projects which support the reputation of the industry.

They also want to provide the data and information industry needs for effective decision-making.

Their programme of work has been developed in partnership with the organisation's three Industry Sector Panels, which represent the domestic and exporter, importer and processing and consumer and supply chain sectors of the seafood industry.

As with the previous Corporate Plan, panel members have helped prioritise the key issues, identify areas of focus and allocate resources accordingly.

Seafish Chief Executive Paul Williams commented: "Seafish sits at the heart of the seafood industry, bringing all sectors together in support of a shared agenda.

"In this new plan, we are building on the work delivered over the past three years with a programme of work that reflects real world opportunities and challenges, and meets the collective aspirations of our stakeholders."

"Whilst the main focus of our work has remained unchanged, one message came back loud and clear from our industry colleagues and that is the requirement to address all elements of responsible sourcing, both ethical and environmental.

"This commitment is marked by an update to our mission statement, which now seeks to deliver 'a profitable, sustainable and socially responsible future for the industry.'"

As part of Seafish's commitment to delivering the work in partnership with stakeholders, a series of Corporate Plan events will be held across the UK this summer for industry to attend.

Members of the Seafish Executive, Sector Panels and Board will be on hand to present the key points of the Plan and answer any questions.
The roadshow kicks off in Plymouth on 3rd June and finishes in Aberystwyth on 20th August. Full details of all events and how to sign up to attend can be found on the Events page on the Seafish website.
