Specific stocking conditions in different countries and regions
Japan stocks the fry in an early time. There are a total of 358 eel farms stocking about 19.4 tonnes of eel fry, among which Kyushu accounts for 40%. The average price of stocked fry is 360 yen each (about 22 RMB)
Mainland China stocks 8 tonnes of Japanese eel fry with the average price of 14 yuan each, plus 18 tonnes of European eel fry with average price of 2.5 yuan and 30 tonnes of American eel fry, including 10 tonnes of North America eel fry with price of 4.5 yuan and 20 tonnes of South America fry with price of 2 yuan.
Taiwan, China is the first farming region to catch eel fry. But the result is not ideal. It only stocked 1.4 tonnes of Japanese eel fry with average price of 70 TWD each (about 14.2 yuan). Besides, about 1 tonnes of other species of eel fry are released to its ponds whose average price is 6 TWD (about 1.2 yuan).
2, 900 won each (about 16.2 yuan) was the average price of the stocked Japanese eel fry in Korea. In addition to that, Korea also bought 0.6 tonnes of American eel fry whose price is about 542 won (about 3 yuan); 1.1 tonnes of other species of eel fry is also released by Korea. The average price was 293 won (about 1.6 yuan).
