In the first half of 2016, enterprises in Maoming, Guangdog province exported a total of 29, 000 tonnes of aquatic product and seafood, increasing by 13.7% year on year, whose total value is up to 770, 000, 000 yuan, 15.5% more than that of the same period in last year. The average price is 26, 000 yuan/tonne, 1.6% up year on year. In June, the export reached 6, 384.7 tonnes, increasing by 4% year on year, whose value increasing 13.4, up to 160, 000, 000 yuan, and the average price is 25, 000 yuan/tonne.
The private enterprise is the main export force from the perspective of enterprise property. It exports 26, 000 tonnes of aquatic products and seafood, growing by 10.3% year on year, which accounts for 88.5% of the total export quantity in Maoming. Foreign-invested enterprises export 3, 390.3 tonnes, which increases by 48.1% year on year and accounts for 11.5% of the total.
With regard to export product category, tilapia and shrimp are the main species to be exported in Maoming. In the first half of this year, enterprises in Maoming exports 16, 000 tonnes processed tilapia products, increasing by 3.9% and accounting for 54.3% of the total exported products; exported frozen tilapia is 8, 243.7 tonnes, 30% up year on year, accounting for 28.1%; a total of 2, 880.7 tonnes of shrimp are exported, 45.4% more than that of the same period and accounting for 9.8% of the total commodities; exported frozen tilapia fillet is up to 1, 346 tonnes, doubling the quantity of the same period in last year and accounting for 4.6% of the total.
The export destination market is mainly located in America, Mexico, Ivory Coast and Australia. In the first of this year, 12, 000 tonnes aquatic products and seafood are exported to America, which increases by 4.6% and accounts for 39.4% of the total; 3, 720.1 tonnes are exported to Mexico, which increases by 52.3% and accounts for 12.7%; 2, 263.5 tonnes to Ivory Coast, 4.5 times the quantity year on year, accounting for 7.7%; 1, 411.4 tonnes to Australia, increasing by 74.6% and accounting for 4.8%.
