To facilitate China shrimp proliferation work and further understand China shrimp recapture situation in north Yellow Sea, Liaoning Aquaculture Fry Management Department had carried out relevant survey in fishing ports, fishing country and aquatic product trading market near north Yellow Sea through personal visits, telephone inquiries, filling out questionnaires and so on from 1st September to 23rd September.
The survey showed that this year’s proliferation work was better than that of last year, featuring wide distribution, high production and long operation cycle. There were captures by different fishing tools in different waters in north Yellow Sea. Unit boat capture made the top record in recent years after the harvest was launched. In mid September, accessory capture of red trawl reached about 15kg, dift gill nets in Qingdui bay, Zhuanghe captured 25-30kg each day, while catch through dift gill nets in Pulandian was up to more than 50kg each day. Up to 23rd September, sea areas off Pikou port also had surprising production. Daily capture of trawls was 2-4kg and dift gill nets was 12.5-30kg each day, both of which were better than that in last year. Because overall proliferation period was put off and sea water temperature rised relevantly slower this year, China shrimp was relatively smaller year on year.
With the optimistic harvest situation, many of the fishing boats in north Yellow Sea changed their fishing tools and specially fished China shrimp. Local farmers fully acknowledged the proliferation work, regarding it beneficial to production and incomes growth, and were willing to increase proliferation quantity and species.
