In the first seven months of 2016, Zhangzhou, a city in southeast China Fujian province and near to Xiamen city, exported a total of 986.2 tonnes of shrimp, worth about 12.526 million US dollars, up by 36.7% and 30.2% respectively. The shrimp produced in Zhangzhou were mainly exported to Taiwan, Hongkong, Russia and so on.
With the help of Zhangzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the farming regions implemented series of measures to ensure the quality from source. Besides, the Bureau also actively asked local enterprises carry out self-inspection and finished product inspection.
Enjoying the information advantage, the Bureau also informed local enterprise of relative regulations, technological standards and other policies regarding shrimp export, making sure their shrimp living up to overseas requirements.
What’s more, local enterprises all put efforts to exploit new international market and effectively improve their international competitiveness.
