Xinhua News Agency reported on Dec. 14 according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Dec. 14, China's total grain output in 2018 was 657.89 million tons (1315.8 billion kilograms), a decrease of 3.71 million tons (7.4 billion kilograms) and 0.6% compared with 2017.
Hou Rui, chief statistician of the Rural Department of the National Bureau of Statistics, analyzed that although the annual grain output had declined, the decrease was not significant, and it was still at a high level, belonging to a bumper harvest year.
