Tajikistan’s apple production grew by 21.4% in 2018

"The volume of said agricultural products exported last year amounted to about 137 thousand tons worth about $ 16.3 million," said the country's Ministry of Agriculture.

This also includes dried fruit shipments, whose total volume last year amounted to more than 19.5 thousand tons worth about $ 5 million.

According to the country's Ministry of Agriculture, of the 212 thousand tons of vegetables and over 447.7 thousand tons of fruit produced, more than 181.1 thousand tons corresponded to apples, 146.4 to apricots, and more than 241,7 thousand tons to grapes.

In 2018, the vegetable production volume increased by 14% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the fruit production grew by more than 10.5%.

The country's apple production increased by 21.4%, and the apricot one grew by 10.2%.

The ministry mentioned that Afghanistan, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are the main buyers of Tajik vegetables and fruits.
