Crab House Trading of Los Angeles, California, is recalling about 36,040 pounds of frozen Siluriformes products (a broad category that includes catfish), more specifically yellow walking fish, that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. Walking fish is a species of air breathing freshwater catfish. No illnesses or adverse events related to this product have been reported to date.

The recalled item is various weight vacuum-sealed packages that contain “Triple Pearl Headless-Cleaned Yellow Walking Fish Ca Tre Vang Lam Sach – Cat Dau.” The product may have best before dates of 20210203 or 20201255 or no date at all printed on the label. There is no UPC number on the product. And there is no establishment number or USDA mark of inspection on the fish label.

These items were shipped to retail and wholesale locations in California. The problem was discovered by FSIS during follow-up surveillance activities.
FSIS is concerned that some of this fish could be frozen in consumers’ home freezers. If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away in a secure garbage can so other people and animals can’t get at it, or take it back to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
