Richwell Group, doing business as Maxfield Seafood of California and the importer of record, is recalling about 160,020 ponds of siluriformes fish products (yellow walking fish or catfish) that were not presented for import re-inspection into the United States. And the products were produced at a facility in Vietnam that is not eligible to export siluriformes fish to the U.S. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products.
The recalled frozen products were imported from Vietnam to the United States on dates ranging from March 2018 through January 2019. The fish has a shelf life of two years and were shipped to retail locations nationwide. They are:
Varying weights of packages containing 2 pieces of “FARM RAISED INDIVIDUALLY QUICK FROZEN” “FROZEN HEADLESS YELLOW WALKING FISH Clarias macrocephalics”.
Varying weights of packages containing 3 pieces of “FARM RAISED INDIVIDUALLY QUICK FROZEN” “FROZEN HEADLESS YELLOW WALKING FISH Clarias macrocephalics”.

14-oz. packages of “WILD CAUGHT INDIVIDUALLY VACUUM PACK” “FROZEN HEADLESS CLEANED MYSTUS FISH”.
The problem was discovered on May 22, 2019, during routine FSIS surveillance activities of imported foods. FSIS is concerned that some of these fish could be in consumers’ home freezers.
Check your freezer to see if you have any of these fish products. If you do, throw them away in a sealed container, or take them back to the store where you purchased them for a refund.
