The Peruvian company Agropecuaria San Ramon made the first shipment of Hass avocado to South Korea through its trading company ASR TRADING. The shipment, which is already on the way to the port of Busan, complied with the protocols established in the Import Plant Quarantine Requirements for Hass Avocado Fruit that was agreed on by the National Agrarian Health Service of Peru (SENASA) and South Korea's Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA) in September 2019. This document contemplates rigorous measures regarding pest management in the field, transport, fruit processing, and shipping.
The South Korean market thus joins other destinations where Agropecuaria San Ramon already exports avocados, such as the US, Europe, Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica, PR China, Thailand, Singapore, Dubai, and India.
The company values and recognizes the permanent effort and support of SENASA, Prohass, and their collaborators who, in the midst of the health crisis caused by COVID-19, have not stopped working with small farmers, have continued providing their services and facilitating Peruvian fruit exports.
