Core Tip: Waitrose is recalling its Channel Island Hazelnut Yogurt with a 'use by' date of 28 January 2013, because it contains almonds and walnuts, which are not mentioned on the label.
Waitrose is recalling its Channel Island Hazelnut Yogurt with a 'use by' date of 28 January 2013, because it contains almonds and walnuts, which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk to anyone who is allergic or sensitive to almonds or walnuts. The Agency has issued an Allergy Alert.

Product details

The product being recalled from customers is:

• Waitrose Channel Island Hazelnut Yogurt, 150g

• ‘Display until’ 26 January 2013, ‘use by’ 28 January 2013

Waitrose is recalling the product from sale because almonds and walnuts, which are not mentioned on the label, have been added to the ingredients by mistake. Customer notices will be displayed in stores to alert consumers to the recall. The company has also contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

If you are allergic or sensitive to walnuts or almonds, do not eat this product. Instead, return the product to your nearest Waitrose store for a full refund. You can also contact the Waitrose Customer Services Department by calling 0800 188 884 (free to call from a UK landline).

No other Waitrose products are known to be affected.
