Core Tip: A drastic increase in fruit and veg sales revenue has been registered in the city of Plovdiv during the May holidays, as reported by the National Revenue Agency (NRA) after control activities undertaken by the Agency in Southern Bulgaria.
NRA-Plovdiv spokesperson Bojana Ilieva, said the data has been collected through remote connection to the cash registers of retailers by means of an electronic system installed by the NRA. She stated that in the days around 1 May and St. George there were enhanced tax controls and monitoring of the fruit and vegetable markets.

The Agency reminds that the penalty for working without a cash register reaches 10,000 Lev (over 5,000 Euro), while traders failing to issue fiscal receipts can be fined up to 2,000 Lev (around 1,000 Euro).
