According to Fangchenggang Fisheries and Husbandry Department, it achieved a total of 4.685 billion yuan worth of output value in fisheries from January to September this year, growing by 9.35% year on year. Total production of aquatic products was 354, 700 tonnes, up by 3.69% year on year and 70.38% of the whole target, 504, 000 tonnes, for the year. Total investment in 12 coastal economic zones was up to 105, 200, 000 yuan, 76.8% of the whole target, 137, 000, 000 yuan, for the year.
Farming scale of superior species continued to expand. Total production of farmed shrimp was up to 38, 600 tonnes, whose output value was up to 1.193 billion yuan, growing by 3.17% and 8.9% year-on-year respectively; total production of oyster was 112, 600 tonnes, whose output value was 672, 000, 000 yuan, up by 7.55% and 11.53% year-on-year respectively; clam production 66, 000 tonnes, output value 586, 000, 000 yuan, up by 0.52% and 6.88% year-on-year respectively. Total aquaculture area in Fangchenggang was up to 291, 900 mu, up by 3, 500 mu and 1.19% year on year, while marine aquaculture area was up to 210, 700 mu, up by 2, 500 mu and 1.2% year on year.
Marine net cage farming had just taken shape. 68 new deep-water wind and wave-resistant net cages were set, whose farming waters was about 220, 000 cubic meters. 380 traditional bay farming cages were added, whose farming area was about 3, 800 square meters. In the first 9 months, Fangchenggang obtained 8, 291 tonnes of farmed marine economic fishes, whose output value was up to 287, 000, 000 yuan, growing by 9.5% and 10.5% year-on-year.
