Prices of carrots and table beets have fallen in Poland, according to Fruit-Inform. Carrot prices are now significantly lower year-on-year, while table beets are still more expensive compared with a year before.
Table beets have become 27-33% less expensive in Poland since the end of the past week, and now farmers ship them at 0.14-0.19 euro/kg. Carrot prices went down more significantly: -40-42%. As a result, they are now varying between 0.14-0.18 euro/kg.
Growers connect this negative trend with a rather considerable increase in the supply of produce in the Polish market. As of now, Polish carrots are 26-31% lower year-on-year, while table beets are on average 18% more expensive compared with the same period of the previous season.
